Short Mantra for Parents of Soldiers, and Others Who Love Them
Yom chamishi, 5 Tevet 5769.
May Hashem bless our soldiers with safety, strength, wisdom in battle, loyalty to each other, and success. May they have many mitzvot that Hashem requires of them, which they can only fulfill as healthy old men.
On Sunday I noticed my usual bus driver was a bit less warm than usual. I asked him about it. He has two sons down there. Please add to your list Amir ben Edna and Binyamin ben Chava.
I'm printing this and posting it right next to Elie's picture on my wall.
May God bless the soldiers of Israel and watch over them as they do what they must to defend our land and people...and may God bless us mothers with the patience and the faith to hold it together...until we can hold our sons.
Amen, Amen! May Hashem guide and protect our brave IDF pilots and soldiers to complete their missison sucessfully and bring each one home to their love ones safely.
Devra: See, this is one of the reasons you inspire me. How many people take the time to ask Mister Bus Driver why he is less friendly than usual? Consider Amir and Binyamin added to the davening list.
Paula: Being next to the photo of the holy Elie can only add to the power of the words, dear lady. Thank you. Amen to your excellent bracha.
Baila: Home, and anxious for coffee, and time with dear friends. I suspect your imagination is working just fine. We'll talk.
I see that the length of the individual responses to the comments gets shorter as the list goes down. Next time I'll be sure to be first and last--so i can get a paragraph and a word...
Ruti, I ride with this guy almost every day. How can I ignore him? He greets me with a smile and friendly 'hello' when I get on the bus. He's my friend.
