Seems we think along similar lines.
I ...Dear Sis,

Seems we think along similar lines.

I see that Passover is the Festival of Freedom. That day no-one disputes saying Complete Hallel with a Brachah.

Someone asked me am I a Zionist? I said that I am a Jew. I have voted with my feet. I live in Shiloh, which is a part of Eretz Yisroel where most Jews living in Eretz Yisroel have never been.

I said that I know plenty of 'Zionist's' living Chutz L'Aretz who have no clue what it means to live in Eretz Yisroel and seemingly no desire to find out on a experiencial basis.

So while Eretz Yisroel is G-D's gift to Klal Yisroel and Medinat Yisroel MUST be seen as existing because this is G-D's will, even the IDF recognizes that our very survival through ALL of the wars we have experienced is because G-D is standing with our soldiers.

For Passover I purchased a new Tanach. I didn't want the Artscroll. I picked up the Koren Tanach.

Much love to you, Avi and the gang.

Your loving Bro,
Hillel Levin
hillel.leib@gmail.comHillel Levinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02301924970969876523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873285922620200649.post-62864237522270688842009-04-30T10:54:00.000+03:002009-04-30T10:54:00.000+03:00I'm glad that you like the new Koren Sacks Siddur....I'm glad that you like the new Koren Sacks Siddur. They lived in the US. But every American and Israeli Independence day, this frum frum man flew the flag of the nation celebrating. Rav B asked his father, "Tatte, why the flags?" His father responded: "Son. America was an achsanya, a hostel, a haven for us when no other country would have us. I have hakaras hatov (gratitude) and want to show that. And the state of Israel? You have no idea what the world was like before there was a state of Israel. It is the home for us all, and I have tremendous gratitude to Hashem that there is a state." Postscript: Rav B lives here in Israel, not back in the Hostel that's America.

Sometimes I think we olim understand the ceremony between memorial day and independence day better and deeper than the native-born. :) I ALWAYS cry during the flag drill. So beautiful!

Thanks Ruti, for saying it all and saying it SO WELL. Blessings.Ye'he Sh'mey Raba Mevorachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10880916203103730085noreply@blogger.com
